Reliable repairs and upkeep for homes and businesses
2 Sparks Electrical provides reliable electrical maintenance and repairs for homes and businesses across Poole and Dorset. From replacing faulty fittings and faceplates to smart tech installs and general repairs, we keep your electrics safe and working. Maintenance is charged at £85 plus VAT for the first hour, then £65 plus VAT per hour, plus materials.
Small electrical problems have a habit of becoming bigger ones if they are left. Our maintenance service keeps your home or business running safely, whether that means replacing a worn faceplate, sorting a fitting that has stopped working, or tracking down a fault that keeps tripping the board.
We look after homeowners, landlords, property managers and busy households across Poole and Dorset. With over twenty years of experience, there is very little we have not seen, so we can usually diagnose the problem quickly and get it put right with the minimum of fuss.
As well as repairs, we handle smart technology installs, from smart thermostats and lighting to doorbells and other connected devices, wiring them in properly so they work reliably. Regular maintenance also helps prevent issues before they start, which saves money and hassle over time.
Our maintenance work is charged at £85 plus VAT for the first hour and £65 plus VAT for each hour after that, plus any materials. It is a straightforward, honest rate for careful work, and we always talk you through what is needed before we get started.
We provide a wide range of electrical services, including consumer unit upgrades, EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports), installation work up to full rewires, and general electrical maintenance. Whether it is a small domestic job or a larger commercial project, we have the expertise to meet your needs.
We are based in Poole and cover Bournemouth, Ferndown, Wimborne, Christchurch and the wider Dorset area. If you are not sure whether you are within our patch, just give us a call on 07795 803729 and we will happily let you know.
Yes. 2 Sparks Electrical is an NICEIC approved contractor, which means our work is regularly assessed against national safety standards. All installation and inspection work is carried out to the current wiring regulations and certified on completion.
Jason founded 2 Sparks Electrical in 2017, and started his electrical career back in 2001, so there are over twenty years of experience behind the business. Jason attends jobs personally, so you get an experienced electrician rather than being passed to a subcontractor.
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all projects, so you know exactly what to expect before any work begins. Call us on 07795 803729 or send an enquiry through the website and we will get back to you.
Our standard service hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. We can arrange Saturday visits by appointment for pre-scheduled work, and we do our best to help with genuine electrical emergencies outside those hours.
A consumer unit upgrade typically takes between four and six hours, depending on the size of the property and the complexity of the installation. We make sure your new unit provides better protection, improved safety, and full compliance with current electrical regulations.
Consumer unit upgrades typically start at around £1,000 plus VAT, though the exact price depends on your existing setup and the size of the property. We always provide a free, no-obligation quote so you know the full cost before we start.
Older fuse boards often lack the RCD protection that modern consumer units provide, which guards against electric shock and reduces fire risk. An upgrade also gives each circuit its own protection, so a single fault no longer trips the whole house. It is one of the most worthwhile safety improvements you can make.
Yes. Every consumer unit we install is fully tested and certified, so you have written proof the work meets current standards. This is useful for your own peace of mind, and for insurers or future buyers.
Yes. We can fit surge protection as part of your consumer unit upgrade, which helps protect sensitive appliances and electronics from voltage spikes on the supply. We will talk you through whether it is worthwhile for your property.
An EICR is recommended for all properties, especially if they are rented out or over ten years old. It is also a legal requirement for landlords to ensure tenants are living in a safe environment. We carry out thorough testing and provide detailed reports, including certificates and advice on any repairs or upgrades needed.
An EICR checks the condition of your wiring, consumer unit, sockets and fittings against the current standards. We identify anything unsafe or non-compliant, grade it clearly, and provide a full written report with certification and honest advice on what needs attention.
Yes. Landlords in England are required to have the electrical installation in rented properties inspected and tested at least every five years, and to provide a report to tenants. We carry out landlord EICRs and issue the certificate you need to stay compliant.
Most domestic EICRs take a few hours, depending on the size of the property and the number of circuits. We will give you a clear idea of timing when you book, and we always aim to work around you with minimal disruption.
Yes. If the inspection uncovers faults or non-compliant work, we can quote to put it right and carry out the remedial work for you. We explain everything in plain English first, so you can decide what to do with no pressure.
Yes. We handle both full and partial rewires, as well as smaller installation jobs. An older property with deteriorating wiring can be a real safety risk, and a rewire brings it fully up to date. We plan the work around you and keep disruption to a minimum.
Not at all. We are happy to help with everything from adding a single socket or light to wiring a kitchen or extension. Whatever the size of the job, it gets the same careful planning and neat, certified finish.
Installation and rewire costs vary a lot depending on the size of the property and the scope of the work, so we quote each job individually. We provide a free, no-obligation quote after assessing the job, with a clear breakdown and no hidden extras.
Yes. We install outdoor power and lighting, including garden lighting, security lights and sockets for sheds, garages and workshops, all wired to the correct standard for outdoor use.
